Chunk Clothing was started in 2001 as a tee-shirt collection for young men featuring 10 designs used on the Haynes Car Manuals. Still based in London, these first tees were such a success that other collections soon followed through licencing by media companies. Each season Chunk clothing puts out three ranges of t shirts and two collections for hard surface bike polo which the company began supporting in 2008.
Started appropriately for a men's fashion house over a beer and peanuts in a London pub, Chunk Clothing has featured t shirts for Warner Brothers, the BBC, Monty Python, Looney Tunes, Marvel, and Hanna Barbara. Chunk clothes features unique design presentations that are geared for its target group of young men from 18-35. The current collection features travel tees, beach tees, a superhero campout, Star Wars characters on tour, a surfing Chewbacca, a salute to headphones and urban Star Wars characters. The company won a licensing award in 2007 for its portrayal of iconic Star Wars characters. Chunk clothes have major media companies lining up to give their product that super Chunk look.
Finishing up their 11th year, the company now distributes its clothing range in most European countries, including Greece. Through web site orders, they have become very popular overseas in the United States, Canada and Australia. The shirts have started to become collector's items, with many purchasers buying one shirt to wear and one to save.
The company has expanded its line of bike polo shirts to include polo shirts for competition and hoodies
