Shopping for women's clothing can be a challenge. Certainly, shopping for clothes is fun, nobody's denying that, but finding just the right outfit, just the right top, pants, shorts or shoes for your big date, for the summer or to complete an ensemble, can be tricky. Too often, you find that you buy an item and you only have the one outfit that it really goes with.

In other words, versatility is important. A red hat, for instance, is striking, but really best worn with monochrome colours, whites, greys and blacks. It can contrast earth tones. That said, every woman really follows her own muse, her own inspiration when selecting what to wear.

Another issue that we face when buying women's clothing is the want to simply cover up parts of the body that we're not proud of. This is the opposite of what you should do if you really want to look and feel your best in women's clothing. If you want to look good, if you want to feel confident, beautiful and sexy, then you need to celebrate what you're proud of, not hide what you're ashamed of. Whether you want to show off your legs or shoulders or use form fitting clothes to flaunt your figure, the focus should be on what you think looks good more than what you'd like to work on.

For some ideas, you may want to watch some fashion shows, re-watch your favourite movies and draw inspiration from the fashions you see on screen. Dressing well in women's clothing means wearing what you like, wearing what you find comfortable and wearing what makes you look and feel good.

How do you know what makes you look good, though? Well, that part is entirely up to you. You need to make your own judgement call and define those words for yourself: sexy, beautiful, confident, strong, pretty, cute, flirty, powerful, it's up to you to decide what you're going for, and it's up to you to decide how you're going to get there. Pick out a few pieces you like, build an outfit or two around them, and embrace your own definition of beauty, not anyone else's.
